Positives: In the Slips had very modest form early in her career but has improved steadily and enters the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf on a two-race win streak accomplished in moderate English handicap company. She owns an excellent turn of foot and acts like she’ll continue to develop as the distances increase. She handles firm going and will be expected to produce a good late kick from far off the pace. Whether she has the class and quality to do so against the type of competition she’s never been asked to face is problematical.
Concerns: Her Racing Post Rating of 92 — her career best — won’t get it done in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf. However, that number represents a considerable leap from her mid-summer form, so there’s hope that she’s ready for another major forward move. She’ll need it.
Bottom Line: In the Slips looks like a nice prospect and she has the late-running style that could be dangerous at a huge price. On pure form, she doesn’t belong, but she most certainly is a progressive sort and it’s not out of the question that she gets a piece of the action.
